Mission
The Hawaii Soccer Academy is the elite soccer program in the state, raising the bar in the Hawaii soccer community, and will provide professional pathways, university and college pathways, and career guidance for all of the Hawaii Soccer Academy athletes statewide.
Hawaii Soccer Academy, or ‘H.S.A’, will be providing top facilities for our athletes to train island wide, including turf fields, quality natural grass surfaces, and futsal courts. The Academy coaching staff will provide an organized, structured, and age appropriate soccer curriculum to their athletes.
The Academy coaching staff consists of 22 dedicated, hardworking, role models to lead the athletes, including many former professional and collegiate athletes. Included in the staff are Nationally “A” and “B” licensed coaches, goalkeeper specific trainers, personal trainers, agility trainers, and a nutritionist. All H.S.A coaches will be required to meet a coaching education criteria set by the Academy, including Grassroots Coaching Licenses, as well as U.S. Soccer Licensing and Diplomas.
“We couldn’t be happier with the direction of the soccer club over of the past 5 years. We feel we have laid a very strong foundation and quality structure at the club”, mentioned Founder and President James Escobar Sasiadek. “We are excited to graduate our first class of college graduates in 2021.
Hawaii Soccer Academy has also inked an exclusive 4-year deal with international sports juggernaut Under Armour. UA will be providing the Academy with world class uniforms and training gear, education and travel resources, training equipment, and marketing material to keep the Academy program on par with any in the country.
The Academy has expanded from its home base in West Oahu, and now has teams on all sides of the island, including East Oahu (Kaneohe/ Kailua) South Oahu (Diamond Head), Central Oahu (Waipio) and recently began building structures for programs on the famed North Shore of Oahu.
This island wide expansion provides opportunities for relationships and crossover within the Academy structure for training, games, fields, and community involvement. The Academy staff and the over 250 current Academy players will be able to obtain quality training no matter where they reside on the island to provide needed convenience for families.
Hawaii Soccer Academy Vice-President and co-founder John Magiera, expressed the importance of both mainland and international travel for Academy program teams. “James and I both have traveled the world and played abroad, and after our most recent success winning a National Soccer Showcase in Southern California, we know our kids can perform at a very high level, but must be challenged outside of Hawaii and even internationally. We plan on making this our priority.”
Both Sasiadek and Magiera have already begun conversations with both domestic and international Airlines companies to assist in outer island and inter- island opportunities. They even have looked forward further into the future and have their sights set on full residency programs and affiliations with Professional soccer Clubs.
“This Academy is only the next step in our long term strategic plan, but if we stay the course there are some very exciting things coming for the Hawaii Soccer Community,” stated Sasiadek.
